The official final results in the March 4 primary election released Tuesday, April 1, by the Butler County Board of Elections trigger an automatic recount to determine the final outcome for the Republican nomination for the 53rd Ohio House seat, according to elections officials. The margin of votes increased slightly from 37 to 54 votes for Hanover Twp. Trustee Tim Derickson over Paul Nenni, a Middletown certified public accountant, and at 0.45 of 1 percent, the results released Tuesday are still within the margin for an automatic recount. |

GOP Statehouse primary race may go to recount |

Thirty-seven votes separate the two top contenders in a GOP primary race for the Statehouse. While Tim Derickson of Hanover Twp. and Paul Nenni of Middletown may have to wait until early April to find out who will be the nominee for the Ohio House 53rd District seat, Nenni said he won't concede the race until it's over. |
