Tim Derickson was born and raised in Hanover Township. What is now known as the Indian Ridge Golf Course was formerly Tim’s family’s dairy farm, which he worked along with his parents as full-time dairy farmers until 1987. Tim graduated from Talawanda High School, Clark State (Associate Degree in Agricultural Business) and Miami University (B.S. in Administration and Management). Tim worked in Health Care Administration, focusing on Ohio schools, for seven years prior to opening his own business(s). Tim’s entrepreneurial spirit and vision encouraged him and his wife, Kelly, to open Colonial Woods Furniture on the family property in 1994. A few years later, Tim co-founded Indian Ridge Golf Course. Tim is also a Realtor with Coldwell Banker. Tim served as Hanover Township Trustee for nine years, immediately prior to being elected to the Ohio House of Representatives in 2009. While serving as Hanover Township Trustee, Tim served Butler County in a number of leadership roles. These include Butler County Emergency Management Agency (Vice-President), Butler County Township Association (President), Northwest Butler County Regional Alliance (Chairperson), Oxford Bible Fellowship Church (Chairman, Trustee Board), Indian Ridge Golf Course (Board Member), Butler County Sportsman Club (member), and Buckeye State Sheriffs’ Association (member), Oxford Rotary (member), Izaak Walton League (member). Since being elected as State Representative to the 53rd Ohio House District, Tim’s responsibilities have increased significantly. He currently serves on five House committees and has been appointed to serve on three additional Boards outside of his House responsibilities (see Ohio House Committees located at the top of this page). Tim and Kelly have two children, Katie and Matt, who attend Talawanda High School. |
...being an elected official, I uphold and respect my constituents' opinions, and invite those opinions in all decisions that affect the 53rd District.
